Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what JOuDigest does

JOuDigest (the "Service") is operated by JOUGROUP s.r.o. ("we", "us"). The Service lets you submit links to publicly available videos and podcasts, upload your own audio, video or subtitle files, and follow channels. For each item the Service produces a transcript and an AI generated summary in the language you choose, stores them in your private archive and, if you wish, sends them to you by e-mail.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Account

You need an account to use the Service. Sign-in is passwordless, by e-mail link, e-mail code, Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to your e-mail address and devices secure.
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher.
One person, one account. You may not share, sell or transfer your account.

3. Your content and your responsibility

You decide which links and files the Service processes. You confirm that you are entitled to have the content transcribed and summarized for your personal use, for example because it is publicly available, licensed to you or your own.
Transcripts and summaries are produced for you and stored in your private archive. You must not republish, resell or distribute transcripts of third party content, and you must not use the Service to build a public library of transcripts.
Content protected by digital rights management (streaming services such as Netflix or Disney+) cannot be processed and must not be submitted through workarounds.
You must not submit content that is illegal, that you obtained unlawfully, or that would violate the rights of others. We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach these Terms.
You keep all rights to files you upload. You grant us only the licence needed to process them and show you the results.

4. AI generated output

Summaries, chapters and other derived texts are generated automatically by an AI language model (currently Claude by Anthropic) and transcripts may come from automatic speech recognition. They can be incomplete or wrong, including names, numbers and attributions. They are not professional advice. Always check important facts in the original. Outputs are labelled as AI generated in line with Article 50 of the EU AI Act.

5. Plans, minutes and payment

The Free plan includes a monthly allowance of minutes of audio and is provided as is, with no uptime commitment.
Paid plans (Pro, Max) are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the prices shown in the app and on this site, including VAT where applicable. Prices may change; we announce changes at least 30 days ahead and they apply from your next billing period.
Minutes are counted by the length of the audio processed and reset at the start of each billing period. Unused minutes do not carry over.
Invoices are issued by JOUGROUP s.r.o. Payments are processed by our payment partners; we do not store card numbers.
You can cancel a subscription at any time in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. Because the Service starts immediately after purchase, you expressly request that we start providing it during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that, once the service is fully performed, you lose the right to withdraw. If you withdraw before the period is fully used, you pay a proportional part of the price corresponding to the service used, and we refund the rest. 7. Availability and changes

We depend on third party platforms (for example YouTube, podcast hosts) that can change or block access at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular source will remain supported. We may change, add or remove features and will inform you about material changes. We aim for high availability but the Service is provided without a guaranteed service level unless agreed in writing.

8. Privacy and security

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Transcripts and summaries are encrypted at rest with a key specific to your account. We do not use your content to train AI models and do not sell it.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings; this deletes your encryption key and makes all your content unreadable, including in backups. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible. Sections 3, 4, 10 and 11 survive termination.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and our total liability for a paid subscription is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for the content of third party sources, for the accuracy of AI generated output, or for indirect damage such as lost profit. Mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Consumers may also rely on mandatory rules of their country of residence. Consumer disputes may be submitted for out of court resolution to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, www.coi.gov.cz) or through the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
